McEwen and Associates Security Incident: What Happened?

Texas-based healthcare operations company McEwen and Associates has reported a June 2025 data breach potentially involving sensitive patient information.

According to a notice posted on its website, McEwen detected on June 24, 2025 a potential incident involving unauthorized access to certain systems containing patient information. After an investigation, the company determined that an unknown actor accessed its systems and copied certain information between June 23 and June 24, 2025.

Following a review of the affected data and assessment of which individuals were impacted, McEwen recently concluded that the breach may have exposed names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, financial account information, government-issued identification, treatment and diagnosis information, patient account number, medical record number, provider information, claims or medical billing information, and health insurance information. The degree of impacted information varies per individual.

The McEwen and Associates data breach was also reported to the Texas Attorney General's Office on July 23, 2026.
