Martin Sprocket & Gear, Inc., an industrial equipment manufacturer, has reported a data security incident believed to have occurred around July 29, 2024, when an unauthorized user accessed a company server containing various types of employee data. The breach was discovered on or about August 22, 2024. The company enlisted a third-party forensics firm to assess the extent of the intrusion and is working with law enforcement on the investigation.
It was determined that the Martin Sprocket & Gear data breach may have exposed employees’ names, dates of birth, health information related to insurance coverage, driver’s license numbers, financial account details, payment card information and Social Security numbers.
