Liberty Resources Security Incident: What Happened?
Liberty Resources, a nonprofit behavioral health, physical health and social service agency based in New York, is providing notice of a data security incident involving unauthorized access to its computer network.
The organization learned of suspicious activity on its systems on July 22, 2024. An investigation of the incident later determined that an unknown third party had accessed and exfiltrated certain files from the network beginning on July 8 of that year.
According to a notice posted on the organization’s website, though the investigation remains ongoing, the Liberty Resources data breach may have impacted individuals’ names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, health insurance information and certain medical data.
Liberty Resources also reported to the Texas Attorney General’s office that driver’s license numbers, government-issued ID numbers and certain financial information may have been exposed.
