Leviton Data Breach?: Lawsuit Investigation

Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of reports of a possible Leviton data breach.

As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who suspect their information may have been put at risk, including current and former Leviton employees and clients.

Reports Emerge of Possible Leviton Security Incident

Leviton Manufacturing Company, an electronic wiring and networking producer with facilities nationwide, may have suffered a data breach.

According to an August 5, 2026 post on dark web monitoring site Ransomware.live, hacker group Dark Project was behind the supposed attack, which was estimated to have occurred on July 31 of the same year. The group claimed to have acquired approximately 1.4 terabytes of sensitive data from Leviton, including internal business documents, financial records and employees' sensitive data.

HookPhish, another cybersecurity platform, similarly stated that Dark Project claimed to be responsible for the July 31 attack on the manufacturing giant.

At the time this post was made, no additional information was available about the scope or nature of the unconfirmed Leviton data breach.
