Kannarr Eye Care, an optometry group in Kansas, has reported a data breach that affected over 14,000 individuals.
According to a notice posted to its website, Kannarr Eye Care identified unauthorized access to certain systems within its network on March 30, 2026. Following an investigation with cybersecurity and forensic specialists, the healthcare provider confirmed that an unauthorized actor gained access to files containing patients' personal and health information.
Kannarr Eye Care's review of the affected files, which was completed on August 17, allowed it to determine the nature of the information involved in the incident and to whom it pertains.
Information that may have been exposed in the Kannarr Eye Care data breach, varying by individual, includes names, Social Security numbers, medical information and health insurance information.
On September 17, the healthcare provider started to notify potentially affected individuals by mail.
