HCIactive Data Breach: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the HCIactive data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who had their information exposed in the incident, including those who received notice of the HCIactive data breach or otherwise believe they are affected.
HCIactive Security Incident: What Happened?
Healthcare Interactive, Inc. (HCIactive), a Maryland-based technology provider that develops health and incentive management platforms to connect and manage healthcare service providers and clients, has announced a data breach affecting certain individuals' information.
HCIactive noticed suspicious activity on its network around July 22, 2025, prompting efforts to secure systems and investigate the incident. The investigation revealed that between July 8 and July 12, 2025, an unauthorized actor copied certain files from the network. The data potentially accessed includes personal information (such as names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, phone numbers, and email addresses), as well as health insurance enrollment and claims information. The Healthcare Interactive data breach, which was reported to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in September 2025, also affected medical data, which may include diagnosis and treatment information, prescriptions, treating physicians, lab results and medical record numbers.
What You Can Do After the HCIactive Data Breach
If your information was exposed in the HCIactive data breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force HCIactive to ensure they take proper steps to protect the information they were entrusted with.
