Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the data breach affecting Georgia Northside.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Georgia Northside Ear, Nose, and Throat, along with BHS Physician Network, Greater Dallas Healthcare Enterprises and First California Physician Partners, have reported that they were affected by a data security incident discovered on August 11, 2023.
According to an online notice of the event, an unauthorized third party gained access to a business email account belonging to a medical assistant. The hacker was then able to remove certain files containing personal information from the user's account between July 28 and August 15, 2023.
The Georgia Northside Ear, Nose, and Throat data breach reportedly impacted 37,774 patients and may have exposed their names, dates of birth, addresses, medical and treatment details, and billing and claims information.
