Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the data breach affecting Georgia Northside.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Georgia Northside Ear, Nose, and Throat, along with BHS Physician Network, Greater Dallas Healthcare Enterprises and First California Physician Partners, have reported that they were affected by a data security incident discovered on August 11, 2023.
According to an online notice of the event, an unauthorized third party gained access to a business email account belonging to a medical assistant. The hacker was then able to remove certain files containing personal information from the user's account between July 28 and August 15, 2023.
The Georgia Northside Ear, Nose, and Throat data breach reportedly impacted 37,774 patients and may have exposed their names, dates of birth, addresses, medical and treatment details, and billing and claims information.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Georgia Northside to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
An attorney or legal representative may then reach out to you to explain more about this investigation and ask you a few questions.
Remember, there is no cost to get in touch, and you are under no obligation to take action after speaking to someone.
