Firstsource Data Breach: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Firstsource data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who had their information exposed in the incident, including those who received notice of the Firstsource data breach or otherwise believe they are affected.
Firstsource Security Incident: What Happened?
Firstsource Healthplans and Healthcare Services, a global health insurance management and claims processing company, has reported a data breach involving its document upload platform.
According to a sample notice sent to affected individuals, as seen below, the data breach resulted from a programming error that potentially allowed for unauthorized access to certain personally identifiable information on the platform, which supports online uploads of documents such as claims and correspondence on behalf of members and providers. The notice additionally indicates that the Firstsource data breach may have exposed Social Security numbers, and that the company may have received affected individuals' information through their health benefit plans.
A report submitted on July 13, 2026 to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation reiterates that the breach impacted Social Security numbers.
It is currently unknown how many individuals were impacted by the Firstsource data breach in total.
