Reports Emerge of Possible First Tek Security Incident
First Tek, a business-focused IT staffing and consulting company based in New Jersey, may have suffered a data breach.
An August 4, 2026 post on cybersecurity blog HookPhish states that ransomware group Play asserted it was responsible for the attack, which was estimated to have occurred the same day.
Ransomware.live, a dark web monitoring site, similarly credited Play with the suspected attack on First Tek and reported that the group claimed to have acquired private and confidential data, including client documents, financial information, IDs, tax information, and other data.
At the time this post was made, additional details regarding the scope or nature of the unconfirmed First Tek data breach were unavailable.
