Infosys McCamish Systems, LLC, a provider of back-office support services for Farmers New World Life Insurance Company, experienced a data breach involving ransomware encryption on its systems. Unauthorized access to the data occurred between October 29, 2023, and November 2, 2023. The breach was identified on November 2, 2023, prompting an investigation with third-party cybersecurity experts and notification to law enforcement. The investigation revealed that the personal information of 25,867 individuals associated with Farmers New World Life Insurance Company was accessed without authorization.
The data compromised in the Infosys McCamish Systems data breach included names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, medical information, and dates of birth, according to a report provided to the Texas Attorney General's Office.
Farmers New World Life Insurance Company was informed on May 28, 2024 that data related to its life insurance policies and annuities was impacted in the breach, and Infosys McCamish Systems has since worked on assessing and providing notifications to affected individuals.
