As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who had their information exposed in the incident, including those who received notice of the Elara Caring data breach or otherwise believe they are affected.
Elara Caring Security Incident: What Happened?
Elara Caring has disclosed a data breach involving unauthorized access to a third-party vendor’s systems.
A sample notification letter (pictured below) states that the third-party vendor, which assists with document management and signing, notified Elara Caring of the data breach on December 12, 2025. An investigation revealed that an unauthorized party had accessed or downloaded documents from the vendor's system between November 4-6 and November 14-17, 2025. Elara Caring’s own systems were not impacted.
By March 12, 2026, the company concluded an investigation intended to determine the information involved and to whom it belonged. According to a report submitted to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation, Social Security numbers and medical records were compromised in the Elara Caring data breach.
Elara Caring provides home health care services to over 60,000 patients across the Northeast, Midwest, and Southeast daily.
