DriveWealth Data Breach: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the DriveWealth data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who had their information exposed in the incident, including those who received notice of the DriveWealth data breach or otherwise believe they are affected.
DriveWealth Security Incident: What Happened?
DriveWealth, a financial technology company specializing in brokerage and investment solutions, has reported a data breach that potentially exposed sensitive information.
According to a notice posted to its website, DriveWealth discovered unauthorized access to its network between September 4 and 5, 2026.
Based on its investigation and document review, the company determined that certain personal information belonging to individuals for whom DriveWealth opened a securities brokerage account—including through a broker-dealer, registered investment advisor or other financial institution—had been exfiltrated from its network.
An October 2, 2026 report filed with the Texas Attorney General's Office states that the DriveWealth data breach impacted over 2.5 million Texans and involved Social Security numbers and financial information. The company's site notice reflects that no passwords or financial payment information, including credit card numbers or bank account details, were compromised during the incident.
DriveWealth is in the process of notifying potentially affected individuals by e-mail; a sample is shown below.
DriveWealth has also announced that no unauthorized brokerage account activity (including transfers, trading, withdrawals, ACAT requests or position alterations) was identified as a result of the incident, nor was there an impact on production brokerage or the client-facing platform.
