According to an October 6, 2026 notice posted to its website, DOC learned of a potential data privacy incident on or around August 7 of the same year. Following an investigation with third-party specialists, the medical group determined that certain information in its care may have been accessed or copied without authorization.
Information that was potentially exposed during the Desert Orthopaedic Center data breach, varying by individual, includes names, contact information, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, treatment/diagnosis information, prescription/medication information, dates of service, provider names and locations, medical record numbers, patient account numbers, Medicare/Medicaid ID numbers, health insurance information and medical billing/claims information.
Desert Orthopaedic Center is still investigating the incident's potential scope and impact. The company will mail notice letters to those potentially affected by the DOC data breach once its review is complete.
