As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
Des Moines Orthopaedic Surgeons, P.C. (DMOS) recently experienced a data security incident where certain files containing personal information were accessed and removed by an unauthorized actor. The incident occurred on or around February 17, 2023 due to a DMOS vendor failure. After an extensive forensic investigation and manual document review, it was discovered on December 6, 2023 that personal and health information, including names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, driver's license numbers, passports, direct deposit bank information, medical information, and health insurance information, may have been compromised.
On January 22, 2024, DMOS sent notification letters via U.S. mail to individuals whose information was potentially involved.
