Country-Wide Insurance, a New York-based company offering personal and commercial automotive insurance, may have suffered a data breach.
According to an August 24, 2026 post on dark web monitoring site Ransomware.live, hacker group Booba Project claimed to be responsible for an attack that allegedly resulted in the acquisition of 92 gigabytes of data from the insurance company. The alleged attack was estimated to have occurred the same day the post was made.
HookPhish, another cybersecurity blog, similarly reported that Booba Project was behind the suspected attack on Country-Wide Insurance.
At the time this post was made, no additional information was available about the scope or nature of the unconfirmed Country-Wide Insurance data breach.
