Cook Medical, a major medical device manufacturer based in Indiana, may have suffered a data breach.
According to an August 14, 2026 post on dark web monitoring site Ransomware.live, hacker group ShinyHunters claimed to be responsible for an attack on Cook Medical and exfiltrated 182 gigabytes of customer, employee and corporate data from the company. The alleged attack was estimated to have occurred the same day.
DeXpose, another cybersecurity platform, similarly stated that ShinyHunters was behind the alleged attack on Cook Medical.
At the time this post was made, no additional information was available about the scope or nature of the unconfirmed Cook Medical data breach.
