Colorado Health Network Security Incident: What Happened?
Colorado Health Network (CHN), providing holistic support services related to HIV, has confirmed a data breach involving unauthorized access to its systems.
According to a notice posted on CHN’s website, an investigation into the data security incident concluded that an unauthorized actor had accessed and acquired certain files on the company's network. A review of the files involved in the Colorado Health Network data breach determined that, depending on the individual, names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license or state identification card numbers, passport numbers, financial account information, credit or debit card information, medical information, and health insurance information may have been compromised.
Prior to CHN’s confirmation of the cyberattack, an August 28, 2025 post on dark web scraping site Ransomware.live suggested that ransomware group Cephalus had claimed to have stolen over 900 GB of data from CHN.
Those affected by the CHN data breach were notified beginning on June 18, 2026 (sample notice pictured below).
