Clover Health Data Breach: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Clover Health data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who had their information exposed in the incident, including those who received notice of the Clover Health data breach or otherwise believe they are affected.
Clover Health Security Incident: What Happened?
Clover Health Investments, a multistate Medicare Advantage plan provider, disclosed a data breach in a Form 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on July 17, 2026.
According to the SEC filing, Clover Health became aware on July 4, 2026 of anomalous activity on certain of its information systems. After an investigation with third-party cybersecurity experts, the company determined that a threat actor gained access to the accounts of three non-managerial health plan employees through social engineering.
The company reported that the affected accounts were assigned to employees tasked with visit scheduling and broker-facing sales, and had access to certain personally identifiable and protected health information.
At the time this post was made, the scope of the Clover Health data breach had not been publicly disclosed, as the investigation remains ongoing.
