Cherry Health Data Breach: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Cherry Health data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who had their information exposed in the incident, including those who received notice of the Cherry Health data breach or otherwise believe they are affected.
Cherry Health Security Incident: What Happened?
Cherry Street Services, operating as Cherry Health, has reported a data breach involving unauthorized access to the Michigan-based healthcare provider’s network.
According to a June 18, 2026 notice on Cherry Health’s website, suspicious network activity was first detected on or about April 19 of this year. Around that time, Cherry Health experienced a days-long network outage suspected to have resulted from a ransomware attack, according to local reporting. An investigation aided by third-party specialists determined that some data was accessed and copied by an unauthorized actor during the Cherry Health data breach.
Though a review of the data involved is ongoing, Cherry Health has so far determined that the compromised information, varying by individual, may include names, addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, health insurance information such as ID numbers, patient ID numbers, provider names, service dates, and Social Security numbers.
This data breach is distinct from the incident that affected over 184,000 people in December 2023. Cherry Health will notify potentially affected individuals in writing once its review is finalized.
