According to a notice posted to its website, Challenge Financial Services discovered on August 31, 2026, that it was the victim of a cyber incident impacting a portion of its network. An investigation into the incident revealed that an unauthorized party had access to the company's environment from August 17 to August 18, and that certain files containing sensitive information may have been viewed or taken.
Information that may have been affected by the Challenge Financial Services data breach includes names, Social Security numbers, addresses and dates of birth.
The company has started to send notice letters to the auto loan customers who were potentially affected by the incident; a sample is shown below.
