Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians (COPCP), a physician-owned healthcare group serving over 500,000 patients across Ohio, may have suffered a data breach.
According to an August 26, 2026 post on dark web security blog HookPhish, ransomware group Chaos was behind the suspected attack, which was estimated to have occurred the previous day.
Breachsense, another cybersecurity site, similarly reported that Chaos claimed to be responsible for an attack on COPCP that resulted in the acquisition of 362 gigabytes of data from the healthcare company.
At the time this post was made, no additional information was available about the scope or nature of the unconfirmed Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians data breach.
