CEI Vision Partners Security Incident: What Happened?
CEI Vision Partners, LLC, which operates a network of eye care practices including Columbus Ophthalmology Associates, reported a data breach to the Vermont attorney general on August 12, 2025. The company, which is now known as EyeCare Partners, discovered unauthorized access to its network by an unknown party on May 26, 2024. A forensic investigation revealed that the infiltration occurred between May 24 and May 27, 2024. A subsequent review of the affected files, completed on June 10, 2025, found that personal information may have been accessed.
Though the type of information varied by individual, the CEI Vision Partners data breach may have exposed names, contact details, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, financial account information, certain clinical information, and health plan details.
