Reports Emerge of Possible Caterpillar Security Incident
Caterpillar, a multinational manufacturing company known best for its CAT-branded construction machinery, may have suffered a data breach.
A July 21, 2026 post on the cybersecurity blog DeXpose.io states that hacker group CoinbaseCartel took credit for the supposed attack, claiming that it had infiltrated the company and obtained sensitive information.
Ransomware.live, another dark web monitoring platform, similarly reported that CoinbaseCartel claimed responsibility for the alleged attack on the multibillion-dollar corporation on July 20, 2026.
At the time this post was made, no additional information about the scope or nature of the unconfirmed Caterpillar data breach was available.
