C2 Financial Security Incident: What Happened?
C2 Financial, a mortgage brokerage firm, has reported a data breach involving unauthorized access to a user account in third-party vendor Quantum Reverse’s system, which C2 Financial uses in connection with Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) loan transactions.
According to a letter sent to the Idaho Attorney General’s Office, Quantum Reverse notified C2 Financial on April 25, 2026 that a user account was accessed without authorization following a phishing incident, which allowed the attacker to gain access to certain loan application files. The specific information compromised in the C2 Financial data breach was not disclosed in the letter sent to the Idaho Attorney General’s Office.
C2 Financial is providing notice to potentially affected individuals.
