Brightstar Lottery Security Incident: What Happened?
International Game Technology (IGT) Group and Brightstar Lottery Group, which operate in the lottery and gaming sectors, recently disclosed a data breach incident that affected 103,879. On November 17, 2024, the companies detected unauthorized access to internal systems. Following this discovery, they took action to secure the impacted systems and launched an investigation in collaboration with law enforcement.
A review was conducted to identify the affected information, which concluded on August 21, 2025. The compromised data may include names, contact details, birthdates, government ID documents or numbers, Social Security numbers, financial account details, and health-related data. The IGT data breach affects personal data collected through relationships with IGT and Brightstar or associated lottery and gaming venues.
International Game Technology and Brightstar Lottery Group are notifying those impacted.
