Bay Oral Surgery & Implant Center Data Breach

Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Bay Oral Surgery & Implant Center data breach.

Bay Oral Surgery & Implant Center, which serves the Green Bay, Marinette and Niagara areas in Wisconsin, recently sent out over 10,000 letters notifying patients that their sensitive personal information may have been exposed in a data security incident.

According to the practice's online data breach notice, it was discovered on February 27, 2024 that an unauthorized individual had gained access to an employee's email account on January 18, 2024. Emails in the account reportedly contained patients' sensitive information, including names, dates of birth, email and mailing addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, insurance information, credit card numbers, bank account information, and medical information such as visit summary notes, x-rays, health history forms, and medical history questionnaires.

A report submitted to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services revealed that 13,055 individuals were affected by the Bay Oral Surgery & Implant Center data breach.
