BASS Medical Group, a multispecialty healthcare organization serving the greater San Francisco area, has reported a data breach that may have exposed sensitive information.
According to an October 22, 2026 notice posted to its website, BASS Medical Group discovered suspicious activity within its network environment on or around September 4 of the same year. Following an investigation with cybersecurity experts, the company determined on or around September 22 that personal and protected health information may have been accessed or acquired without authorization during the incident.
Information that may have been exposed during the BASS Medical Group data breach, varying by individual, included medical treatment codes, billing information and health insurance information.
BASS Medical Group has begun sending preliminary notices to individuals who may have been affected by the incident; a sample is shown below.
