Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Atlantic Orthopaedic data breach.

As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.

Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists, also known as Vann Virginia Center for Orthopaedics, PC, has disclosed a data breach affecting 15,264 individuals. The breach, which involved unauthorized access to a corporate email account, was discovered on August 6, 2024. An investigation revealed that sensitive data, including personal and health information, may have been accessed by a third-party actor from June 20 to August 6, 2024.

Information potentially exposed in the Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists data breach includes names, birth dates, Social Security numbers, driver's license or other government ID numbers, credit/debit card details, and health insurance and medical information. The Virginia-based medical provider says it began notifying impacted individuals on November 22, 2024.
