Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the American National data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who received a notice stating they were impacted.
On May 31, 2023, Progress Software Corporation announced a vulnerability in its MOVEit file transfer application, which was used by various organizations around the world, including American National. After an investigation into the data breach, American National learned that an unauthorized third party had gained access to its customers' personal information on May 28, 2023. This information may have included names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, medical treatment details and financial information. American National reported the incident on August 7, 2023, revealing that a total of 270,758 individuals were affected.
If your information was exposed in the breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force American National to ensure it takes proper steps to protect the information it was entrusted with.
