Reports Emerge of Possible AECOM Security Breach
AECOM, a multibillion-dollar infrastructure consulting company based in Texas, may have suffered a data breach.
According to a September 17, 2026 post on dark web monitoring site Ransomware.live, hacker group Metaencryptor claimed to be responsible for an attack on AECOM that reportedly affected 1.22 terabytes of data. The alleged attack was estimated to have occurred the same day the post was made.
RedPacket Security, another cyber news site, similarly stated that Metaencryptor was behind the suspected attack on the engineering firm.
At the time this post was made, no additional information was available about the scope or nature of the unconfirmed AECOM data breach.
