Reports Emerge of a Possible Advanta Genetics Security Breach
Advanta Genetics, a laboratory company providing molecular genetics, toxicology, and microbiology testing services, has reportedly experienced a data breach orchestrated by threat actor Aurora. According to an April 29, 2026 post on Ransomware.Live, a screenshot shows Aurora threatening to disclose medical records, Social Security numbers, passports, and additional data belonging to company employees and tens of thousands of patients.
On May 27, DataBreach.com indexed the information reportedly exposed in the possible Advata Genetics data breach, indicating that 280,802 rows containing Social Security numbers, birthdates, email addresses, phone numbers, names, and street addresses may have been compromised.
Advanta Genetics had not confirmed the reported cyberattack at the time this post was made.
