AdaptHealth Data Breach: Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the AdaptHealth data breach.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who had their information exposed in the incident, including those who received notice of the AdaptHealth data breach or otherwise believe they are affected.
AdaptHealth Security Incident: What Happened?
AdaptHealth Corp., which sells a range of home medical equipment, has disclosed a data breach in a Form 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on July 2, 2026.
According to the SEC filing, AdaptHealth was contacted by a threat actor purporting to have company data in its possession on June 15, 2026. By June 27 of the same year, AdaptHealth confirmed that it was necessary to file a Form 8-K due to the nature and possible volume of the data that may be at risk.
AdaptHealth believes a threat actor gained unauthorized access to some of its systems through a social engineering attack on a user account associated with a third-party contractor. Though the investigation into the AdaptHealth data breach is ongoing, the company has so far determined that passwords associated with insurance billing accounts, as well as certain personally identifiable and protected health information, were affected.
At the time this post was made, AdaptHealth had not yet announced a plan to notify potentially affected individuals.
What You Can Do After the AdaptHealth Data Breach
If your information was exposed in the AdaptHealth data breach, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, time spent dealing with the breach, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
