Abrigo Data Security Incident:Lawsuit Investigation
Attorneys working with ClassAction.org are looking into whether a class action lawsuit can be filed in light of the Abrigo data security incident.
As part of their investigation, they need to hear from individuals who believe their information may have been put at risk, including Abrigo employees, as well as customers and staff of the financial institutions that Abrigo serves.
Abrigo Security Incident: What Happened?
Abrigo, a financial information and software company serving over 2,400 banks and credit unions nationwide, has reported a data security incident that may have exposed sensitive information.
A November 2, 2026 post on cybersecurity reporting site BleepingComputer.com states Abrigo conducted emergency maintenance three days prior, taking its Sageworks application offline to investigate suspicious activity detected On October 30. According to the article, the Sageworks product is a software platform that enables Abrigo's lender-clients to process customers' loan applications, analyze borrowers' finances and credit, and monitor loan portfolios, among other functions.
This outage was confirmed on Abrigo's own status page, which reflected that the company's team identified irregular activity in its environment on October 30 and then disabled the Sageworks application. By November 3, Sageworks was put back online, with the exception of borrowing-facing capabilities.
In a November 2 statement provided to financial trade publication American Banker, Abrigo confirmed that the irregular activity behind the shutdown was a data security incident involving unauthorized access.
Per cybersecurity platform BeyondMachine, the data that could be exposed in a potential Abrigo data breach may include tax returns, financial statements, credit reports and rent rolls, commercial and small-business loan application documents, borrowers' personally identifiable information and financial records, and other business records.
Abrigo has not confirmed whether any data was taken during the security incident and continues to investigate the activity.
The alleged October 2026 Abrigo data breach follows unconfirmed reports from hacker group ShinyHunters earlier this year, who claimed to have acquired 1.7M Salesforce records from Abrigo in April 2026.
What You Can Do
If you're affiliated with Abrigo and suspect your information could have been put at risk, attorneys want to hear from you. You may be able to start a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for loss of privacy, lost time, out-of-pocket costs, and more.
A successful case could also force Abrigo to ensure they take proper steps to protect the information they were entrusted with.
