Defective Drugs:
Adderall Linked to Cardiac Problems
Adderall
Adderall is used to treat children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). ADHD causes children to become easily distracted, extremely emotional and very impulsive. Adderall, which is a combination of the stimulants amphetamine and dextroamphetamine, is prescribed to approximately 700,000 Americans. Unfortunately, those taking Adderall may experience life-threatening side effects.
Adderall has been associated with sudden death and heart problems including heart attacks, strokes, arrhythmias and high blood pressure. Adderall can also cause psychological problems including aggression, hallucinations and psychosis. In Feb. 2006, the FDA released information that Adderall had been linked to approximately 50 deaths. Shire Pharmaceuticals changed Adderall’s prescription information to include a warning about sudden death and life-threatening heart problems.
If your child has experienced cardiovascular problems as a result of Adderall use, you may be able to take legal action. Fill out our free case evaluation form to find out if you are eligible for compensation.
