Head Mercantile Co., Inc, the owning and operating entity of debt collection agencies The HMC Group and The SOS Group, is the defendant in a class action claiming the company violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Filed in Ohio, the lawsuit claims the defendant sent a fax regarding the plaintiff’s alleged debt to her employer without first receiving express consent to do so.
