Concepts of Independence is facing a proposed class action out of New York over alleged wage and hour violations. The lawsuit claims the personal assistant staffing company paid the plaintiff and proposed class members a flat hourly rate without paying time-and-a-half for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek. The plaintiff claims she worked seven days per week for a total of 54 hours without receiving time-and-a-half overtime pay or spread-of-hours pay for shifts that lasted longer than 10 hours in a day.
