Connecticut Company Sues Over Alleged TCPA Violations

Connecticut company Gorss Motels, Inc. has filed a lawsuit in Illinois against Renue Systems Development Corp. and others over alleged violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). The plaintiff specifically alleges violations of the Junk Fax Prevention Act of 2005 (JFPA) and says the defendants sent out faxes without receiving prior express invitation or permission. Under the JFPA, plaintiffs can receive statutory damages of $500 per violation in a successful case.
