A class action lawsuit filed in Missouri against Honda claims the engines found in 2015 CR-Vs are defective.
A class action lawsuit filed in Missouri against Honda claims the engines found in 2015 CR-Vs are defective. According to the suit, the “Earth Dreams” engines found in the CR-Vs are designed to improve fuel economy by maintaining “maximum horsepower and torque at lower engine revolutions per minute (RPM).” It is well known throughout the automotive industry, the suit says, that running a vehicle at low RPM can pose problems that might manifest in the form of a noise, vibration or engine harshness. The plaintiff claims that after she took her vehicle in for repair numerous times to address vibrations that occurred when idling or at low speeds, technicians were unable to fix the problem. “Therefore, Honda failed to design, assemble and/or manufacture the 2015 CR-V in such a way that the vehicle would comport with acceptable levels of noise and vibration,” the suit says.
