Royal Caribbean Rape
In the third such event in two months, a 14-year-old girl claims she was raped when a Royal Caribbean cruise ship employee who first befriended the minor and her family, who were vacationing aboard the Adventure of the Seas. According to her account, Fabian Palmer lured the girl, alone on a deck, into a men's locker room where he began to have sex with her. The police report states that Palmer stopped when another employee knocked on the door. Upon interview with the Royal Caribbean staff, the pool attendant claimed that he thought she was 16 years of age, according to records. On Jan. 11, Palmer was reportedly indicted on a single count of sex abuse of a minor.
Cruise Line Rapes
A 15-year-old girl also reports that she was raped by two men on a Royal Caribbean after she was lured from a teen nightclub aboard the vessel. Similar incidents also occurred on two separate Carnival cruises, and potentially, many other cruise ship rapes, not only on these lines but any vessel traveling the high seas, may have gone unreported.
