Cole Haan Accused of Denying Overtime
Shoe and accessory retailer Cole Haan has been accused of not giving employees required breaks or proper overtime pay. The complaint, which was removed to California federal court on Thursday, claims that Cole Haan workers were frequently required to work more than eight hours in a day and more than 40 hours in a week in violation of the law.
Plaintiffs Drop First Mirena IUD Case
The first of 1,200 consolidated lawsuits set to go to trial over Bayer’s Mirena device has been dropped. The lawsuits are claiming that the IUD has the potential to puncture the uterine wall regardless of whether it’s inserted correctly. The plaintiffs dropped their own case voluntarily and without much expectation, though Bayer claims it was because most of the plaintiff’s experts had been barred from giving testimony.
Fiat Chrysler Recalls Rollaway Vehicles
Fiat Chrysler announced that it will be recalling close to 1.1 million vehicles after reports surfaced that the cars have the potential to roll away due to a finicky park function. According to the announcement, the vehicle’s electric shift levers can lead drivers to believe the cars are in park when they really aren’t. There are more than 811,000 affected vehicles in the United States, including 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs, 2012-2014 Dodge Chargers and Chrysler 300 sedans.
Abercrombie Sued for Sending Unsolicited Texts
Abercrombie & Fitch has been hit with a proposed class action claiming that it sent consumers text messages without their consent. The plaintiff claims that the ads Abercrombie sent violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and is seeking compensation for the violations
Hair Relaxer Lawsuits
Women who developed ovarian or uterine cancer after using hair relaxers such as Dark & Lovely and Motions may now have an opportunity to take legal action.
